I love English's world building, but I think I've fallen out of love with English's "zany" characters... they all seem a bit too exhausting, mildly abrasive, and kind of annoying.

It was fun in some parts, but it really sucked to wonder when this book would be over.

Really sweet re-telling of Beauty and the Beast.  Love the inclusion of what her sisters got up to (kinda) while she was with the Beast.

Though it kinda felt pointless that it took her so long to get home only to realise the Beast was dying, so she travelled back almost immediately.

I love the inclusion of the previous cookbook authors' last moments in the dungeon.  I felt it didn't detract from Carl and Donut's storyline - if anything, it fleshed out all the different ways of how horrible  and messed up dungeon crawls were (and still is).

Gods, teared up so much in this book.
When Carl see Rosetta and Tipid for the first time, Volteeg's sacrifice, Carl finding Milk T_T omg

Honestly thought I'd be desensitised to whatever Dinniman comes up with, but things just get more fucked up with each floor and this floor was not any different.  Geebus.

God, Alexa just races off half-cocked or is incapacitated by emotions - it got real annoying, real fast.

And that ending?! Her facing off Hades and having a chin wag with God - I could NOT have rolled my eyes harder.  She's so special. Ugh.

Still cute, but a little more grating than the first book.  Again, definitely felt longer than it was.

Pretty cute, but was a teensy bit grating.  I can't believe it's only 67 pages - felt longer than that...

Really enjoyed the Guild thing and Benjamin quickly became my favourite.
Maybe too quickly, which made me worried for the WHOLE BOOK that he was going to die.  I guess he didn't because it's supposed to be a cosy book...

Amber hiding her powers, I kept thinking: keep it secret, keep it safe.

There's chemistry between the police chief and Amber is kinda intense / weird, knowing that he's got a wife and kid.  How's that gonna work out as a love interest?  I mean, if the marriage is on the rocks, I guess... but it didn't seem like it?  I dunno

Yeeesss, this was what I was after: likeable witches and interesting mystery, with a dash of cute chemistry.

Loved the sisters dynamic.
