I wonder how much I would struggle with finding out I have magic powers or supernatural abilities... and then wonder how much I'm projecting when I read about someone fighting against said discovery.

Aly fought against her abilities hard. Maybe too hard and it got annoying.

What's up with all these mildly unlikeable witches that I've been reading? Ugh. So disappointing.

It was only now that I realised the last two books I read were written by this same author and I guess I'm just not a fan of their writing. Unfortunate.

I found the story to be awful and cliched and I also disliked everyone.

Didn't like anyone here either! They weren't horrible, but they weren't likeable at all.

Also didn't like how the mystery unfolded - it was kind of boring and uninspiring.

It felt like such slog for such a short book.

I don't know, I didn't really like any one and wasn't too keen on the storyline either.

Rather immersive world-building and love the characters.

Also really enjoyed the slow burn romance between Harry and Corlath

Just was wonderous as the first instalment, though with a bit of mild horror I thought.
I mean, mind-controlling, body-snatching aether ghost pirates are pretty horrific, surely.

This was such a lovely, cosy, and wholesome book. Loved the world building and the cast of characters.
