I love the inclusion of the previous cookbook authors' last moments in the dungeon. I felt it didn't detract from Carl and Donut's storyline - if anything, it fleshed out all the different ways of how horrible and messed up dungeon crawls were (and still is).
Gods, teared up so much in this book. When Carl see Rosetta and Tipid for the first time, Volteeg's sacrifice, Carl finding Milk T_T omg
Honestly thought I'd be desensitised to whatever Dinniman comes up with, but things just get more fucked up with each floor and this floor was not any different. Geebus.
