The duet style audio narration was perfection! Definitely the best way to read this book imo and I’m glad I did a reread!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 0%.
I have heard very mixed reviews about this… I was gonna read it anyway, but having Volts be responsible for the grid and the slums worst street being Loot Alley on just the first page just had me feeling like I don’t want to see what the fuss is about.

I was so excited to get an ARC of this from Harlequin. Make Me Want and Make Me Crave are two of the authors older romance novellas and they were combined to create this book.
I really liked both stories. Even though they were both short and spicy, I was so invested in the relationships and seeing how it would all play out in the end.
I really enjoy a lot of the author’s romance books and I love her writing. There are some books/series of hers that are decidedly not my thing, but I love that she has a large backlist of various subgenres to try! Definitely recommend this one.

Actually kind of a cute story full of miscommunication, but I’m not sure that the spice matched the level of experience of the main character and I think this would have been better with less spice maybe?

I’ll be honest, when I first picked this up, I put it back down. I read a few books before deciding to pick it back up. I didn’t like how jarring it felt to go from Elspeth’s POV to a larger cast of characters with short chapters. Given how book 1 ended, obviously I didn’t expect Elspeth’s POV only, but I wished the chapters were longer to settle into the story before it ripped me away to focus on something else. It was a bit much to go from one character to the next rapidly.
I say this because it’s worth it (getting used to the perspectives). The effort paid off because I really enjoyed the way the story came to a close and how it all happened. I don’t know that I would have been quite so invested in it all had I not gotten more perspectives since some characters went to find the Twin Alders and some stayed behind.
If you’re struggling like I was, keep reading!
I very much enjoyed this sequel and the duology overall and highly recommend it. It would make for a great TV show because it had a lot of mystery and was very visual.

Steamy and insane, but so much better than the actual first book imo.

A bit cringe with the gamer stuff and the nickname, but otherwise I devoured this and enjoyed the heck out of it.

A bit over the top, but a couple I couldn’t help but root for.

I enjoyed the finale of this trilogy! I *did* have a feeling about who was behind the assassination attempt, and I was right, but I still enjoyed seeing all the puzzle pieces fit together just right so that the book had the best overall result. I definitely recommend the trilogy if you’re a fan of political intrigue and fantasy peppered with a smidge of YA romance. Sure, it’s convenient that Sage is always at the center of everything, but it’s the world of YA where a teen girl can be the savior of a world or country, so why not? This was fun.

Well… that was a bit more YA in the sense that the entire country needs a teenage girl to swoop in with 0 experience and somehow save everything. It was quite annoying, but I’m still somehow invested in the story and I kind of want to see how the next book plays out as the conclusion. Second book syndrome is a side effect of the best YA trilogies, so I’ll keep going. It was fun to see Sage out of her element a bit in a camp with soldiers.
