I would absolutely recommend reading the graphic novel right after finishing the traditional novel. I felt it added a level of understanding to the occasionally confusing timelines of Slaughterhouse-Five. The graphic novel also removes some of the sections that have not aged well. That said, this is not intended as a replacement to reading the original, and I wouldn’t treat it as such.

Poo-tee-weet!
This was a solid adaptation for the novel (which I haven’t read) as I feel the visual aspect better highlights the chaos and jump-cuts Vonnegut utilizes to navigate through the narrative. I’ll definitely revisit this and the actual book someday when I’ve gotten used to processing more difficult prose again. I feel like this is a relatively good story that it’s so unfortunate I didn’t enjoy it as it seemed a bit out of my scope.
Hopefully in the future I’ll be able to better understand Vonnegut’s creative choices and the intentional chaos of the story, but for now I’ll be taking baby steps towards novels like this and sticking back with straightforward narratives

If you have not read the original, this wont make much sense. I cant review it from that perspective. From the perspective of someone who owns the original, it was good, but not great. I do enjoy seeing how artists interpret and extrapolate from novels. Worth a pickup if you have read the novel, otherwise you can skip.
The artwork is not "groundbreaking," but it is good. The use of arrows and text boxes to point to events happening in the frame is reminiscent of another graphic novel I cannot place right now.

Remarkably effective in this format and it wasn't a given that it would be so all credit to those that adapted Vonnegut's novel.
I still prefer the novel but haven't read it in many years and this was a great supplement to it.

A good graphic novel adaptation of a book I enjoyed, though I must have read it like 20 years ago.

I haven't read this book in like 15 years and it's WAY more devastating as an adult than it was as a teen. The entire time I was reading this, I could only think, How could we let this happen?

I’ve never read Slaughterhouse 5, but I’m now convinced of its deserved position in the canon. I feel that I know its spirit, through this graphic novel interpretation. So, excellent work by all parties involved.
