Slaughterhouse-Five, or the Children's Crusade by Ryan North, Kurt Vonnegut, Albert Monteys
4.0
Poo-tee-weet!
This was a solid adaptation for the novel (which I haven’t read) as I feel the visual aspect better highlights the chaos and jump-cuts Vonnegut utilizes to navigate through the narrative. I’ll definitely revisit this and the actual book someday when I’ve gotten used to processing more difficult prose again. I feel like this is a relatively good story that it’s so unfortunate I didn’t enjoy it as it seemed a bit out of my scope.
Hopefully in the future I’ll be able to better understand Vonnegut’s creative choices and the intentional chaos of the story, but for now I’ll be taking baby steps towards novels like this and sticking back with straightforward narratives
