Personally, I can’t imagine a more horrible job than a wedding planner. All those people. Having to deal with the people and their expectations which I bet can change from moment to moment. Worst of all? Having to be nice to all those people. Ugh (huge shudder wracks my body)! So, I could certainly understand Nate’s desire to come home at the end of the day, eat dinner, watch mindless TV, and go to bed. Two things attracted me to this story. One, I really adore this author’s writing and the opportunity to read less dark from her than the other works I’ve inhaled was too much to pass up. And, two, the blurb hooked me with Nate’s ingenious plan to have a “bad boyfriend.”

“…Nate wondered where he could find a bad boyfriend at short notice on an island. Of course, when he put it like that, there was really only one choice.”

Flynn is five years older than Nate and the crush Nate had on him when he was fifteen seems to still be lurking around. Flynn has only recently returned to the island after twenty years in London. There’s a lot of gossip, none of it good, revolving around what Flynn was doing in the city for all of those years. Most of it involves criminal behavior, ties to organized crime, a hidden wife and child, and all manner of nefarious activities. Since Flynn doesn’t talk about himself, Nate hasn’t got a clue what’s true and what isn’t. He only knows that Flynn took over his dad’s garage after the old man died, he works rescues for emergency services, and he’s still ridiculously sexy.

I like it! Perhaps not the most unforgettable book I've ever read, but I really liked the setting and the characters. They were well-rounded and pretty... well, not always good people, which I can appreciate. Sure, there was perhaps a little too much time spent on some of Nate's clients when there were other things I would have wanted to read about, but that might just be me being impatient.

As for the plot, I mean, I'm always down for some fake/pretend relationship. This one was also slightly different in that the transition from fake to real felt surprisingly smooth. There was less angsty pining than I had expected (though there was certainly pining, make no mistake) which made it quite enjoyable. That's not to say there wasn't drama and grand gestures, but it was more subdued than some would make it.

This book was a nice read, basically, and perfect if you want something fairly uncomplicated but enjoyable.

This was funny and sweet with two lovable main characters. I love the name Flynn, so having a main character with that name was already a bonus, making him a bit of a diamond in the rough was just the icing on the cake. Nate, the second main character was initially more of a homebody who just wanted to stop people from fixing him up. His fool-proof plan was to find a bad boyfriend only to later break up with him.
Max, Nate's best friend, wasn't a great best friend in my opinion but he was a source of both some comic relief and some drama, a multi-purpose character if you will. Rounding off the cast were Teddy, Max's dad and Nate's boss and Ally, Nate's mum.
Now this being a romance, we already know how the plan will end, but getting there was a very enjoyable journey, helped along by some supporting cast. Nate's a wedding planner and the way some of the wedding guests and events were written was spot on and instantly recognisable. The romance was more head over heels than slow-burn but not over the top. In fact, the story line and the characters were amongst the more realistic ones I've read in this genre. For a sweet, not-so-bad -boy romance, this is highly recommended.

I can't rate this book high enough - I think it should get another 5 starts for the narrator (Michael Mola) and that rough working class accent.
If there was a sequel I'd have already started it.

Wanted - Bad Boyfriend is a heartwarming story. At least I thought so. It was a feel-good story that I will reread when I need something comforting. I enjoyed Nate and Flynn.

Flynn was a bit mysterious and the brunt of a lot of gossip on a small island. I was wondering why Max, Nate's best friend, was so hostile towards Flynn and when it was revealed I was alike... ohhhh... No, I'm not giving anything away. Read the book! You'll like it.

While I found it a little hard to get into at first, I quickly fell in love with Nate and Flynn and the inhabitants of Ceremony. TA Moore’s writing illustrated the Islas well and I could almost taste the salt spray.

There is a bit of a mystery as to Flynn’s background, and I can honestly say the solution never crossed my mind. There are a few details missing that I would love to know, but I can live without them.

I would have liked to know how the wedding at the end faired and maybe an epilogue, but i was content with what I got.

Overall a solid story.

I didn't like Ted or Max. Other than them, I enjoyed secondary characters such as Jessi from the rescue service and Kenny from the mechanic shop and coffee shop. Flynn was a good boyfriend as Nathan found out.

The story of Katie and Bradley's wedding wound around this story of Nathan and Flynn which gave a different perspective.

I listened to this and think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it. The accept kept changing. While I realize there could be different accents based on social class, but all the accents were different which I found disconcerting. Also sometimes the mood seemed to change in the middle of the sentence.
