The Push by Ashley Audrain

This was an unsettling, chilling and creepy Thriller about motherhood. And the big question if Blythe is insane or if her daughter is a monster.
I absolutely get why so many people love this. It seemed to have deeply resonated with a lot of other readers but it just didn't with me.
Maybe I'm too young or care too little about kids. Probably already not wanting to experience motherhood beforehand made it even harder to connect to the characters and their desires.
It is very beautifully written so it was rather easy to read. However, it was purely Character based, which I just don't like in my thrillers.
My only real criticism is the ending. While everything else was simply personal preference, I objectively think the ending fell flat. It was super uncreative and what I believed to be going on from page one.
Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this if this sounds like your type of book or a concept you're interested in.

If you enjoy movies like Oceans 8 and Charlie's Angel's, you're gonna love this.
The female rage in this book is amazing just are the plot twists. Not to mention the amazing representation: I LOVE old lesbians.
This is a really fast paced book about retired high class assassins trying to figure out who wants to see them dead, with flashbacks of their work life.
Not a single page of this book is boring. The characters are really likeable and super funny. Not only was I thrilled since page 1 I also laughed a lot through out. In conclusion this book is one of the most enjoyable reads ever. One thing I especially loved were the fight scenes. Fight scenes are usually a hit or miss for me but they felt like movie scenes in the best way possible.
Highly recommend this to everyone! Even if you usually don't read thrillers. This book really felt like a movie so if you enjoy action movies and female assassins, give this one a shot.
