I loved Dakota, he is a younger not quite as hard Niall. It’s great to see especially considering they grew up apart but the brothers are very much alike, with a number of shared mannerisms. Dakota would like to think he is the grumpiest but Niall has him well and truly covered here. He is not very social which is hilarious as he has a job that requires him to be social.
Tad was a good foil for Dakota. He was more social and helped to bring him out of his shell. I liked how he just kept plugging away. He pushed but never too far, so as not to ruin the friendship.
The secondary characters are great, from Tad’s parents through to Amanda the brothers fiancée. Still not too sure about Boone but his comedy of errors was funny and a bit sad as well.
The side mysteries were covered pretty quicky and bear one was good.
Quick entertaining read

Audio Review
I do enjoy this book even if Violet does my head in. Would be great if she cold actually string more than two words together at times and say something other than um or Joe.
Her back and forth is annoying but also understandable as she really has no idea about dating, and Joe does make it hard for her. But she shows absolutely no back bone and just lets him move her where he wants.
The audio does highlight the repetitive sentences and words that could be tightened up but what makes this one great is the emotional punch this one delivers.

I loved Brann and enjoying seeing things from his POV. He’s not as grumpy as he would like to believe he is. This is showcased very early when he offers Kenan a place to rest up at his bar. Brann doesn’t have any Christmas spirit and does go out of his way to annoy his neighbour at the bar, but also loves his town and enjoys being a part of it.
I liked Kenan’s calming personality too. He was a good foil for Brann’s more grumpier style. I did pick his secret but I did like the fact the guys sat down and talked it out like adults. Where there could have been this big thing it was nipped in the butt quickly. I also liked that he arranged his own housing and set up his life, it would have been easy to just move in with Brann
Brann’s family was great, from his happy and open sister to his mum who doesn’t handle surprises well, making her come off as not very nice, she makes up for it when she has a chance to stop and process it.

This one worked for me. It's a quick read so the author had to make me buy the relationship in a shorter period. I think the author has done a good job. Yes there was a quick attraction to relationship but that needed to happen here.
Both characters had their own issues, August's were more out in the open to everyone, whereas Dawson's struggles were contained to people who knew him. This put them both on a bit of an even field. At the start it appeared that Dawson was a rebel but that was quickly disproved once the reasons for his actions were known.
Not to sure about the CUPID bot and how he got his information but let that go.

Stan has always been my favourite of the Railer's boys and in this one he just breaks your heart.
From his injury to surgery, to Noah's illness the boys are put through the wringer. I loved how Eric and Stan worked together throughout this one. They had their disagreements and both suffered serious guilt for missing Noah's illness but they managed to stay together and act as a team.
Eric was the first to understand that he was ready to retire and that his heart just wasn't in anymore. Stan had more hills to climb as he continued getting PT to help with his hips and then watching he younger generation of goalies coming through. It must be hard for these guys, ,who give everything they have to a sport, to admit hat its time to go. Especially when the heart is there just not the body.
I loved loved loved Stans talk with his pipes at the end and especially the epilogue

This one was so different from others for a number of reasons, the biggest being that was a player and ref as the love interests. It made it interesting see how they interacted with each other at the games. The guys struggled to keep their attraction hidden from everyone else.
The other difference was that Logan was very isolated. Being a Rental he didn't have the same team connections as the other characters. He was usually only brought in for 1 season and then traded, so he didn't try and make a lo of friends. He had no support when it all went bad, everyone just turned on him. I got where they were coming from, but if that had of been any other player on the team there would have been more understanding.
It was a shame the way it all turned out. I know Logan was thinking about retiring but he was just starting to show how good a hockey brain he had and how valuable he was to the team.
I liked Webber too. I think his family was fabulous and the way they helped him when everything went down and got him back on track. He reacted badly to his life imploding but also made it up to Logan when they reconnected.

Fabulous addition to the series.
I loved seeing Ten and Jared expanding their family unit. Lottie is a delight, and the two new additions were a good mix.
Seeing both the guys questioning themselves and not being sure of how to proceed was a good juxtaposition to their usual capable selves. Ten’s game starts to suffer as he is stressing about the things he can’t control.
Jared is second guessing himself with how to connect with Soren and Soren just broke my heart. Can’t wait for his book

My favourite of the series so far.
Since the previous book Moral (Dunny) has suffered a career ending injury and is now trying to deal with the aftermath and work out where his place is in the world. I did feel like I had missed a book or something to state what had happened but this was explained throughout the book.
It was powerful watching the big brash happy go lucky player reduced to an angry and bitter man without the ability to see any purpose to his life. You caught glimpses of the old Dunny but his pain about never playing again and being replaced on the team meant he tried to distance himself from his friends on the team and everything they represented. The team wouldn't be denied and I loved watching hem reconnect.
Cooper was great. I loved his unapologetic self. He struggled at times with the social cues and was honest about it, but he never let anyone use his autism as a way to put him down. He hated the people side of his business and would have been happy to be left alone on his lab, but the people he did trust and surround himself with never treated him as anything other than normal. It was great.
I loved how he connected with Moral with the jokes, and how he gave him the outmost truth, gently but he never lied to him. He was upfront that playing in the NHL was never an option but skating was achievable. He pushed Moral when he was going to give up and gave him the encouragement to move forward.
Both of the guys surrounded themselves with good people, people who only had their best interests at heart. It was also great seeing Cooper open himself up more to the ones surrounding him and actually getting to know them.

I like this series as it deals with the guys lives outside of hockey. Yes they are hockey players but that is nearly a side thing as they only got on the ice here for a charity match.
It took me a long time to get into this one, as at the start I wasn’t a big fan of Marquis. He was so over confident and some of the things that came out of his mouth in the first half I found to be unbelievable especially considering he was representing his company and dealing with Royals.
Eventually it calmed down and I got to liking him. I felt sorry for him in the end when things didn’t go his way.
I liked the way the company acted, they traded on their reputation and didn’t go in maligning the opposition. Things have a way of always coming out.
Kaleb and his family were great. They all had their issues and people they loved. It was interesting to see how it all worked itself out in the end.
I liked the mini epilogue at the end. Being as the guys both lived on different continents it was always going to be hard to see it working but this gave us a quick rundown of where everyone was at.

Great addition to the series.
I enjoyed how the authors handled the fact that the guys were on differing sides and competing for their own countries. There was disappointments as not everyone could win, but they were so supportive of each other and their achievements.
The guys hurt being apart from each other I really enjoyed Ten getting to spend time and get to know the other side of Colorado. He really shows his caring side helping out Ten when he is low. Whenever Ten needed a pep talk Colorado was there. To help him though. He also showed what he was made for hockey wise as he holds his own in the net in the big games.
