The entire book was engaging. The writer has a unique style imbues historic details with a sense of wonder. I enjoyed how deftly social dynamics, and culture advanced the plot. I was surprised at the ending which was wonderful. And satisfying romance too

I got totally absorbed in this book. I thought Meg was a great character, the author did a wonderful job of showing all of her conflict and desperation at being inexplicably thrown from the 21st century back to the 13th. I liked that she alternated perspectives between Meg and Prince Llewyllyn. Sometimes it seems tacky but not with this book. They sucked me in with this prequel to the series, I bought the bundle for my kindle as soon as I finished!

The story is stilted at times and a bit too episodic without enough character development/depth to move the more unbelievable aspects of plot along.

Ok so this is a prequel...but the first I have read in this series.
I guess I'm wondering what the overall concept is.
Romance and time travel are there but not developed.
So I need to read more to understand.
The prequel ended so suddenly, it was unexpected and seems unfair.
I enjoyed the historical elements, will be interesting to see where it goes next.

I stayed up way too late to finish this.
Some strong language in the modern part, but otherwise clean. The historical part was beautifully written, and very realistically portrayed. A violent time, but people are essentially people.

WTF did I just read? I was completely into this book and then the ending made me want to throw my kindle across the room. I mean come on, how can you just end the story this way? I know there are more books, but I am not sure I want to read more. I felt cheated.

I was expecting a romance, but really I'm not sure what category this book belongs to. Yes, there was insta-love (practically), but not even one sex scene! I admit I started this book because I'd gotten it for free and wanted a light read that was slightly raunchy.
The only reason I didn't set this book down as soon as the two main characters were together but I realized there weren't even going to be any hilarious sex scenes was because it was about Wales and I've never read anything set in Wales. So that was slightly interesting, but then it just got annoying because this was not a romance book, just a historical novel. Seems like the author just read a few books about Wales and decided to summarize the main points of about a year in the life of this Prince of Wales. Most likely due to my utter lack of knowledge on Wales, I found the political talk boring in this book--I was constantly wondering who each of the characters were and whose side they were on, same for the places and who ruled them but on whose land...
It was a bit of a waste, unfortunately, on the romance, character development, plot, and writing, but I guess it is probably at least a little historically accurate.

Fast enjoyable read. Very good story and plot. Kinda wish more development of the characters relationship was done. I did really like reading about Welsh people and history as I don't know anything about them. I would like to read the others in the series as I read a little excerpt in the back of the book and was intrigued.
Spoiler: It's basically girl falls thru time and finds eligible bachelor, marries him, has a kid and then pops back into her time.

Great introduction to one of my favorite series. One important note is that the title is slightly misleading in that the romance is mostly suggested, not explicit. Think more YA sweet romance than anything else.
