"Legal thriller" is an entirely appropriate characterization for this novel. Bennie Rosato's new client Alice Connolly is accused of murdering her lover, a police detective. Defending Alice plunges Bennie into a personal quandary, for Alice may in fact be her (evil) twin. Scottoline sets up this story nicely, shifting points of view from time to time, as revelations of police and judicial corruption unfold. Scottoline portrays Bennie's psychological struggles particularly well. The conclusion, however, came as something of a shock.

Listened. Read quite well by Kate Harper. Bennie is asked to defend a woman accused of killing her boyfriend, a cop, only to discover that the woman, Alice Connolly, looks just like Bennie. Lots of violence, not as much humor in this one. Excellent as usual. No. 4 in series.

Another gripping, plot-twisting, always suspenseful book by Lisa Scottoline - good on audio.

This one is the best one for me so far that I've read by Scottoline. Bennie Rosato actually appears to have more emotional depth than the usual psychopathic shallowness she has demonstated in the previous novels and there was some lawyering along with the usual thriller action.

This is the 4th installment in the Rosato books and I feel like I may be finally know enough about the characters to care about them. A little slow in parts, good chase scene, and maybe an addition to the team!

I enjoyed this book. It wasn’t my favorite but I still enjoyed it. I wish Alice had stayed and things could have ended differently. I didn’t like who ended up being the murderer. Should have been left how it was in theory.

A little too slow and much too long. The story wasn't bad but I didn't like any of the characters.

Interesting enough to finish, but not compelling enough to want to keep reading late at night....

Not my favorite by Lisa Scottoline, I think there is something that drives me nuts about the Bennie Rosata storyline, but it was a quick, engaging read.
