Another enjoyable addition to the Dresdan files. This one neither captivated nor bored me. I find they are fun quick actiony reads that continue to be a nice palate cleanser between heftier works. I say that with no disrespect to Mr Butcher either. They're fun but often forgettable as most books are.

Another adventure with Harry. Yes, he's a problematic fave, but a fave no less.

This is one of the more exciting books with all sorts of people coming together. I liked meeting Sanya and Kincaid again, and of course Ivy. Yes, it’s still a favourite, it’s still one of my five stars and it’s still on top of my list. I loved it.

Every time I return to the Dresden Files it reaffirms to me just how amazing this series is. Harry Dresden is such an enjoyable character to read about, his development, the growth of his interpersonal relationships, and the growth of his magic is extremely rewarding. I think this growth is in part why each book gets better and better, because we have a back history to call back to.

This story sees the return of the Denarians, as well as a really interesting conflict between the fey. Michael, one of my favorite characters, is heavily featured.

There are some really touching moments, and I think the use of Dresden's apprentice Molly does a particularly good job of rounding him out as a character.

As usual, I strongly recommend this book to any fans of the Dresden Files!

Number 10 in the Dresden Files series does not disappoint. I'm not sure how much of a mystery was attached to this one but I really enjoy the SF elements of this series and he has managed to keep from getting silly and trite in the series. I like the characters, I enjoy the pyrotechnics and I am always satisfied with Harry and the good guys saving the day.

It adds in some different stuff, but it's yet to be seen whether or not that stuff is any good. For its part, Small Favor was a fun, at times creepy, installment in the series, and marks the first serious return of Nicodemus, who is sure to be hugely important later on.
