Every time I return to the Dresden Files it reaffirms to me just how amazing this series is. Harry Dresden is such an enjoyable character to read about, his development, the growth of his interpersonal relationships, and the growth of his magic is extremely rewarding. I think this growth is in part why each book gets better and better, because we have a back history to call back to.
This story sees the return of the Denarians, as well as a really interesting conflict between the fey. Michael, one of my favorite characters, is heavily featured.
There are some really touching moments, and I think the use of Dresden's apprentice Molly does a particularly good job of rounding him out as a character.
As usual, I strongly recommend this book to any fans of the Dresden Files!
