This graphic novel adaptation is an impactful read. Even without reading the original novel, it proves that the original Slaughterhouse-Five's status of a classic is well-earned. The depictions of war are chilling, whereas the different philosophical thoughts flashed throughout the story linger and make you stop to think.

I read the novel once and didn't really “get” it. I can’t say this graphic novel made me love the book, but the way it presented the story worked better for me and helped me keep track of what was happening “when.” I liked the art style a lot and think, as a whole, it’s a really well-done adaptation.

slaughterhouse-five is one of my favourite books, so i was instantly intrigued by the idea of a graphic novel and am so glad i read this.

billy's becoming unstuck in time translated incredibly well to an illustrated format, and i felt that ryan north and albert monteys did an exceptional job at capturing vonnegut's voice and outlook.

i'm not sure if anything can compare to the original novel for me, but this certainly came close. the only thing i really missed was vonnegut's prose so maybe this is just a sign for me to read more of his work this year.

Since I read this immediately after reading the novel version of the story, I don't have a ton to say. I do think the graphic novel was preferable (though I might have been more confused if I hadn't just worked my way through the original). It was easier to follow time skips through the way that the illustrators colored the different events and experiences. Otherwise, my review from the other version stands.
