This book was absolutely heartbreaking. What Matteo and Aida went through is not for the faint of heart. Though, there was so much darkness in this book, the light is so beautifully written. What Matteo and Aida have together is unbreakable. Throughout this whole book I was just in awe of these two. It was extremely hard to read at times and the emotions you'll feel are intense. But, it was a beautiful ending to the Cavaleri Brothers! I think this book might be my favourite in the series and even saying that is hard because I have enjoyed them all. Matteo and Aida just hit differently and their story is one that will stick with you. I can't wait to get the extended epilogue in The Devil's Demise to see where all the couples end up!

Left breathless and heart racing this book held me heart from page one. There are things happening that you don’t see coming and even if you do it still leaves your heart in pieces then slowly mends it back together. Aida’s life isn’t one that is easy, and she lives with her horrific father she sees all the horrid things he gets up to, but the things thrown her way are never what she expects. My heart hurt for all she endures and the cruelty of her father, but she never let that take away her hope and heart of gold. There is so much I want to say yet I don’t want to ruin it for anyone because this book is a journey that readers will devour. Let’s just say you can’t anticipate all the things that come your way and the author handles it all with dignity and heart. This is by far my favorite of the series even though they all hold a piece of my heart. Trust me you will consume this read and your heart will hurt, but I promise it will also be healed.

The best so far!
Even for this series, this book is a different breed. In my opinion, much darker than the preceding books and maybe a little harder to swallow for some readers, it's rough at times. Having read the Fragile Hearts series, which is a battering ram on the emotions, I was a little more prepared than some may have been.
I highly suggest reading the rest of the series before starting here, you're really missing out if you don't. It really shows how rough these two had it. Aida and Matteo were cursed with tragedy from the beginning of their lives basically, it would seem only natural that they find each other and fall truly madly and excruciatingly.
I can easily say this is my favorite of the series so far. It's been tough to choose because they're all so great but the harshness of this one was just too incredible to fall into the shadows of the previous books. I'm impatiently waiting for the next installment!

Emotional
OMG Matteo?!?! I swear I cried soooo hard multiple times throughout this book. His and Aida’s story was the hardest to read by far. It’s definitely traumatic and will rip you apart because so child should ever have to go through what they did. Their story was so raw and heartbreaking yet their love story gave so much hope. I honestly hope to see so much more of them in future series.

Pinky promise
This book is darker than the others. The lost brother has returned. This is matteos and aidas story. It's dark and gritty and at times heartbreaking. The two grew up together and their story is told through both pov from the age of 8 to the present. I absolutely love these two and how precious their love truly is.

The perfect end to a tortured story
Such a beautifully tragic and heart-wrenching end to the Cavaleri brothers' stories. This was an emotional roller-coaster from start to end. Matteo is officially my favorite of all the brothers.

I went through so many emotions going through this book. So much pain and sadness. It really made it hard to read at times. To think Matteo was alive all these years and was locked in a basement like some kind of dog. It really made my heart for him. The way so many lies were spun and made to believe they were true was so sad. To think your brother abandoned you, but really just thought you were dead. It really hurt to read.
Then Aida having to be raised by the devil himself. She really put up with a lot from him. I’m so surprised she survived through it, even though she didn’t seem like she would for a while. She’s honestly so strong for putting up with his shit for all these years.
I believe Matteo and Aida really bonded over their hatred for him but also being two kinds who were trapped in that hell house. They really supported each other and were able to talk to one another about what happened to them without feeling judged. They really do make a perfect pair and I’m glad they didn’t have to go through things alone.
I really enjoyed each of these stories. They were so well thought out and actions packed. Even though they were so sad and heartbreaking to read, it was incredible to read how everyone over came their hard times.
