The Devil's Den by Lilian Harris

4.0

I went through so many emotions going through this book. So much pain and sadness. It really made it hard to read at times. To think Matteo was alive all these years and was locked in a basement like some kind of dog. It really made my heart for him. The way so many lies were spun and made to believe they were true was so sad. To think your brother abandoned you, but really just thought you were dead. It really hurt to read.

Then Aida having to be raised by the devil himself. She really put up with a lot from him. I’m so surprised she survived through it, even though she didn’t seem like she would for a while. She’s honestly so strong for putting up with his shit for all these years.

I believe Matteo and Aida really bonded over their hatred for him but also being two kinds who were trapped in that hell house. They really supported each other and were able to talk to one another about what happened to them without feeling judged. They really do make a perfect pair and I’m glad they didn’t have to go through things alone.

I really enjoyed each of these stories. They were so well thought out and actions packed. Even though they were so sad and heartbreaking to read, it was incredible to read how everyone over came their hard times.
