This was my least favorite. A lot of heavy themes. Check TWs. The MCs went through so much and it was hard getting to their ending. A tough read for me and not a book I think I would read again. With that said, it was well written.

Just as I imagined it, The Devil's Den is a heartbreaking book, the story of Matteo & Aida was not easy at all and it made me suffer a lot for both of them, but I think that in them we can also find the most beautiful and tender couple of [a:Lilian Harris|19163712|Lilian Harris|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1648227565p2/19163712.jpg] so far, plus I loved the way she told their story with the two points of view in each chapter, letting us see the progress of their relationship, feelings and everything that these two characters were discovering throughout the book along with the best outcome that Cavaleri Brothers, Matteo & Aida could have.
I think Matteo & Aida were very similar characters: the two find themselves trapped in the hands of Agnelo, who makes them go through the worst situations imaginable and find love, understanding and the company they need in each other. These two have beautiful hearts, they are kind, tender, understanding and find strength together, in Allison, and in little Robby too, whom I loved reading grow in this book! something that I did NOT EXPECT but that I enjoyed so much.
It broke my heart a lot to read Matteo & Aida changing little by little, hardening their personalities and losing hope of a better future due to the constant abuse and mistreatment to which Agnelo subjected them, but I really liked that, even in those moments, neither of them gave up on the other. It was very beautiful and heartbreaking to read the way Aida approached Matteo from the beginning, how she made an effort to help him learn new things, to get to know him and protect him in her own way, I liked that she was always the optimist of the two, and that despite everything that happened to her, she always managed to give Matteo the hope he needed, and that Matteo gives Aida the strength, love and acceptance she needed was just as beautiful.
And although their path is quite painful, unfair and cruel, I really liked the way Lilian developed it, how she helped us get to know them both and how she gave me everything I needed from the characters in this series with the last chapters of the book.

Matteo was abducted when his father was murdered by the Bianchi brothers. His brothers saw him get shot, and thought he died that day. Matteo has been trained as muscle, taught to kill to save Agnelo’s daughter, Aida, who he has grown up with, even though he spends all o himself time chained up in the basement. The things these two live through, make my blood boil. I want to kill those… well, if I say what I want to, my review will get turned down.
I am a huge Lillian Harris fan.. from the first book of hers I read, I have loved every one. Every storyline, every character, (I don’t love every situation her characters get into), but I LOVE they way they work through and deal with issues. I am privileged to be able to read for her. This series may be my favorite… the Cavilari brothers have lived through things that no one should have had to live through, but they have all survived, and they all have done well for themselves. I can’t wait till the next book…..

Book 4 of The Cavaleri Brother's Series.
Don't ignore the triggers!
I was the girl hidden away from the world.
He was the boy held captive.
Both alone until I made my first & only friend!
What an emotionally, gripping story about 2 children thrown together, no one but each other to keep the hope of freedom alive.
Lilian has such an amazing talent with words, every heartbreak, you feel it right to your sole.
With each tragedy Matteo & Aida endure you get pulled further into there world, until finally you get peace.
But is it just for now or will another enemy sneak out to take it all from them.
