Steffen and Wil are my favourite couple in this story universe.

I loved how strong their relationship is, and seeing Stef's character growth just made my heart happy.

I'm eager to read the next spin-off now!

I loved this book! There that is it, Oh ok I can say a bit more.

We are leaving the dragon's, this is the last book of the series, but fear not there will be another spin off from this wonderful world that this one click (for me) author has come up with.
As with all the other books that have come before which I would highly recommend reading in order first there is tea snortingly funny moments along side some poignant ones, there is also a twist that not even Steffan saw coming and this is his book!
We find out the secret that he's been keeping for years, Wil and he have been a couple forever telling no-one so it can't be used against Steffen, the reasons become clear in this book. I didn't want to put it down, it hooked me from the first page and even when I had to do something else I was still thinking about it.

This was truly the perfect romance to end this series with! Steffan and Wil were meant to be! Love this world and all the dragons and every book has been hilarious, fun, romantic and exciting! What I loved most about this book though was that the romance was so strong it absolutely consumed the story, oh and me! The emotional bond between Steffan and Wil will break and warm you heart while giving you tons of laughs along the way! Highly recommend this series and cannot wait for all of them on audible!

The Best Yet

I think Conspiracy of Dragons is Louisa Masters’s best work yet. If you’re familiar with the series, I think Conspiracy of Dragons is Louisa Masters’s best work yet. The emotional work she does with Steffan and Wil, Steffan especially, is amazing. There’s still plenty of humor and a splash of heat, but the emotional journey shines.

Conspiracy of Dragons has more plot than the previous three books. The plot isn’t as big as the one in Hidden Species, but it’s big enough to give the finale flair.

Before reading this book, I recommend reading the others in the series. Readers will follow the story, but it wouldn’t be as good. This one relies a lot on characters and plot points from the Hidden Species series.

Readers who have read the other books will be familiar with Steffan. He’s beyond quirky. In other stories, he’s been the comic relief. He’s the over-the-top security specialist who seems to always overreact. Sometimes, he seemed like a caricature.

Over-the-top characters can be difficult for me to take seriously as main characters. There’s a mental shift the writer needs to lead the reader to when it comes time for the character to get their story. I didn't know how Masters would make that shift happen.

I needn’t have worried. When I understood where Steffan’s reactions came from, things changed. He became an actual character.

Thankfully, the shift didn’t ruin the humor in the previous books, either. I loved learning that while Steffan has a lot of anxiety and paranoia, he also likes to be a little shit. Not all the times when he’s making comments is he being serious. He also likes to suggest wildly over the top things just so the others will compromise to something closer to what he feels is necessary. That leaves me space to still find humor in the previous books without discounting the struggles he’s faced.

And, wow, how Steffan has struggled. I spent three quarters of this book close to tears, hurting for this dragon who has such a massive capacity for love. His and Wil’s romance is something I never expected, but I’m so thankful we got.

I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by Lousia Masters. I jump to read her new releases, and many of her books are on my “comfort reads” list. It’s not surprising that I loved this book. Still, I think this one is special. Can’t wait to read it again.

Louisa has hit the mark with every songbook in this series. As one of my go to authors, I'm never disappointed.

There were several surprises and the most romantic, by far. Steffen and Wil were thoroughly and thoughtfully written.

Not to be left out, we graced with the other dragons and team members. Loved seeing what they were up to.

** I received this ARC for my honest feedback.**

Steffan has always intrigued me. I wondered how his personality was so different from the other dragons. His story is so sad. It makes you want to give him a big hug. After reading about all he had to go through you understand him more and get why he does/acts the way he does. While the central plot is implementing the plan from the previous vol, we get another mystery in trying to figure out who is trying to attack the community. We are also treated to the sweet moments between Stef and Wil. That pairing was surprising but I'm not mad about it. This book has all the feels you'd expect and a surpising twist you never expected. Definitely recommend it to close out this chapter in this universe.

We are now at the end of a long road that Louisa took us on through 2 series, starting with Sam and Gideon in ‘Demons Do It Better’, Hidden Species series. This was an amazing finish to the story. Humans need to be reintroduced into learning about magic and everyone, but especially Steffen, is not exactly happy about this. Ever vigilant Steffen introduces mass screenings to discover which humans can be trusted and he uncovers a true conspiracy!

Amidst all this, we learn how much Steffen is a serious sweetheart who has been through so much. He’s been a character who has been easily laughed at in previous books due to his paranoia and conspiracy theories, but you can see how much he is loved by his friends in how they accept his paranoia and try to accommodate it as much as possible. Discovering his history and why he is this way, was incredibly sad. Thank god for Wil and Brandt who have been there from the beginning for him. Wil, what a beautiful and patient dragon you are! You love Steffen with all your heart and accept him with zero attempts to change him. They truly are perfect for one another. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
