I love this one and I'm really not sure why.
I felt for Becca and Brawn. They were manipulated the whole way through this by everyone involved, first their captors and then their friends and family around them. If they had of been left to their own devices they would have been fine but by the time that happened there was a lot of hurt between them.

My least favourite of the whole series
There are times I like Jessie, she holds her ground and sticks up for herself and then the next second she is letting Justice walk all over her.
Justice is so annoying in this one. He doesn't want to be with her out in the open but also doesn't want anyone else to have her.

This one kind of snuck up on me with how much I liked and enjoyed it.
It took a while to get going as at the start Vic was the harder character for me to like, he was just all about the "drama" and a bit over the top, but then through his budding friendship with Cameron we got to know both guys and they both wormed their way into my heart.
Both have their own issues, and Victor's were probably more out in the open but Cameron's were just as bad, just hidden to an extent better. Cameron being afraid of connecting with anyone was at the same time making connections wherever he turned and he was petrified. It slowed the relationship down so they really got to know each other. They still had things that weren't spoken about and by the end all was in the open. I loved seeing the brothers interact and become even more of a family unit.
I actually understood Victor's depressive episodes, the need to just sometimes check out but to snap out of it when it got to that point and I liked that he wasn't in denial of having them. He was prepared to do what he needed to do to get help, when it got to that point that it was harder to snap out of it. His relationships with Tez and his kids were fabulous. the close bond between the family members was conveyed so well.
The part with Honey slayed me as I've been in that situation before, it wasn't was long but it was a killer to go through.
I hope we see more from this series, I'd love to see more of Jorge and hope he finds his peace.

Great of shorts in the Hazard and Somerset world.
I enjoyed seeing these guys outside of work and how they still manage to get themselves into trouble whatever they are doing.

I love this book, it’s one of my favourites. I love Valiant and how much of a teddy bear he is with Tammy. All the new species are scared of him but she has him wrapped around her little finger.
This one introduces the outside threat of the doctors still operating their experiments and more new species still in captivity

Other than the short stories compilation this is the end of the first series, and it goes out with a punch. It’s the most gruesome of the series. A lot of the arcing storylines have come to their conclusion and there are still a lot of parts that are up in the air but I enjoyed how everything tied together.
Hazard finally has the answer to the question that has haunted him for most of his life, and boy was I not expecting that outcome to what happened to Jeff. Mikey showed just how much of an unbalanced individual he actually is. The Mayor after interfering in their cases from the start dropped his act and showed Hazard his true personality and I truly believe both got off easy.
The guys had to work through their personal issues, especially the issues they each had about their relationship and trust each other to use their strengths to solve the case and come away with their lives.
I must admit I have issues with Cravens and was glad when Hazard laid it all out, she deserved to be brought to task for her role. I didn’t have an issue with Hazard resigning as I believe he couldn’t work for someone he didn’t respect and he didn’t trust Cravens. He’ll also do better without the rules and regulations. He is not a company man, he won’t play the game just to keep higher ups happy. He needs peace on his life and the job just wasn’t giving him that.
It’s taken me a while to work my way through but very enjoyable series.

I enjoyed this instalment to the series. We see the guys finally together but they are both still cautious of the other one and each one of them has a hang up about why the other would leave, and I understand both sides and where they are coming from., especially Somers as the way Hazard can accept Somer’s part in the past and still be with him is simply amazing to me, as I don’t think I could do it. They do get around to talking it out and that was fabulous.
I liked in this one we got to,see Hazard’s family dynamics and it wasn’t pretty. I felt for him as he navigated his past throughout this case. For an angry gruff man Hazed has this incredible ability to forgive people as we saw with his dad here. Once he understood what was happening he was more open to a discussion with him and it opens the door to reconciliation within the family unit.
I adored seeing Hazard connect and bond with Evie. I can see their relationship being a highlight throughout the series.
The case was entertaining, there were so many victims and at times it was hard to see where it was going but it was very enjoyable.
Looking forward to the next one

This one has been my favourite so far. I think because the guys are starting to move towards each other more and admit at least to themselves their feelings. Somers is still worried about what others are seeing but he is more accepting within himself of how he feels about Hazard which leads to some more funny banter between the two.
The case interesting and I was enjoying seeing how they handled being sidelined. They both handled it differently but also both didn't handle it well at all. they did work together and bounce back. I'm still not sure what gave them the info they needed to solve the case but the way it worked out was good.
Nico I gave a rap to last book but in this one he reverted to being a child again, and I know he needs to go for the relationship between Hazard and Somers to progress but the way he acted here was annoying and cruel in a way. I felt for Hazard here, he is not the easiest person to like and he makes no effort to soften his attitude, which I can see if going to be detrimental later on, but it felt cruel how Nico acted.

Enjoyable listen as we get to know more of the new species and the humans that work with them.
Slade is unfortunately his own worst enemy as his mouth runs away from him multiple times here. Lucky for him Trish is pretty forgiving
There are some good comic moments in this one

I've been wanting to reread this series for a while but just haven't had the time, so I decided to give it try on audio
I think the narrator did a good job, she did struggle I little with some of the mens voices but overall it didn't take away from my enjoyment.
I did still enjoy this one and looked forward to continuing the series. I love Ellie, even though she can be a bit of a pushover at times, she tried her best to do right by the new species. Fury's anger was understandable but I liked the way once they were together nothing could deter them from each other.
