Children are routinely sold for profit from orphanages. One main character is sold to a brothel madam where she is put to work reluctantly. At one point, the madam allows a patron to have intercourse with the character while she is unable to give consent.

Definitely extremely dated, but I mean... it is from the 13th century. This gave me some very interesting insight into the state of the world during that time, but I don't think that any translation is going to fix the repetitiveness of the writing.

Animal Farm remains a classic in ways that become more and more evident each time it is read. Much like the animals on the farm, it has become hard to tell the difference between pigs and men.
