Incredibly well researched biography/history about King George VI & Queen Elizabeth as well as the people who were at the heart of so many important events in the 20th century. The only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is that it abruptly ends at the king’s death. While the  book focuses on their relationship & their roles in shaping the UK, the fact that Queen Elizabeth lived so much longer than her husband should be briefly discussed. They were such partners that not discussing how she coped after his death is a vital aspect to their story.
