Anthony Bridgerton. The man that you are.
I loved the Netflix series so I thought I’d give the books a go! The story in this one was a little different to the show and honestly it’s one of the rare cases where the TV adaptation IS better.
I feel like there wasn’t enough angst and pining in the book. From around 60% onwards, nothing much seemed to happen as it felt like the HEA had already been achieved.

I love these characters and this world so so much.
I do think this was my least favourite in the series so far, simply because it goes back in time to the first day that Joey and Aofie meet. The first 100 or so pages felt a little boring to me and it threw me off a little bit reading about them being 12 years old. I felt as though some of the conversations were a little bit unrealistic for their age.
From 3rd year onwards, I started to really love and connect to Joey and Aofie. I have to say Aoife is probably one of my favourite female main characters so far. I did love getting to know Joey more too, even though his story was so tragic and emotional.
I didn’t think I’d connect much to the drug addict storyline but I ended up really caring and rooting for him throughout the book.
I’m looking forward to the next book to carry on with the usual timeline!

I honestly have no words for this series, these characters just mean so so much to me and I fear I will never love or be so attached to anything else ever again.

I actually have no words. This book and these characters mean so much to me and this was only the first book in the series. I’ve never read about such a diverse and fleshed out bunch of people before. I laughed, I sobbed and I gasped in shock throughout the entire book. I just love everything about this so so much.

I was honestly rather disappointed with this book after loving the first two in this series. I just couldn’t force myself to be invested in the characters, and I feel like the plot (which there seemed to be a lack of) simply wasn’t that interesting.
The first half of the book was incredibly slow, I enjoyed the middle portion a little more but then the ending felt rushed.
I didn’t really care for the main characters back stories and the third act breakup only lasted for two chapters. I can admit that there was definitely some character development and I did feel more for them towards the end.
I did enjoy when the characters from the previous books made an appearance, but that wasn’t super often.
I’m hoping this was just a little blip in the series as I am still looking forward to reading the next one.

This was my first time listening to an audiobook and I would definitely recommend it for this series. The narrator did a great job at making me feel immersed in the Bridgerton world.
I loved the TV show, so I thought I’d give the books a go too, and I have to say that this is one of the odd times that a TV adaptation was better than the book! I definitely missed having the other characters around but there were still a few scenes with the Bridgerton brothers, which I enjoyed.
I would probably say I like Simon as a character more than Daphne. I feel like his backstory is written well and it really shows in his character development. My problem with Daphne is that one scene, if you know you know, and I can’t quite look past it.
