Jan 2024 Re-read: Coming back to this book after reading Crescent City 1&2 and Throne of Glass blew my ever loving mind. So much is written in between the lines of this book that completely flew over my head the first time through. I'm very excited and very nervous for CC3 to come out later this month 😭

It was really slow for the first part of the book and I was stuck around page 70 for weeks. Then I took the book on a flight and finished the next 680 pages in a matter of 36 hours. I liked the emphasis on female friendship in addition to the romance.
