As much as people say Hannibal Rising is the weakest of the series I’ve got to disagree, I feel Hannibal was far longer than it needed to be and whilst Hannibal Rising has got some tonal differences to the other three books it is to be expected. Hannibal is growing into the monster he will become in this one, and although it is slow in areas the trauma he experiences is so fascinating in how it relates to what he does in the future. 🌿🌻

The audio narrator, who is also the author did a phenomenal job of immersing me in the story and in Irena’s character. There were many times where I questioned what the reality of the book was and even when I finished it, I was not entirely sure what really happened. A very interesting portrayal of madness and obsessive behaviour. 🌿🌻
