I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley, so thank you!! I flew through this book very quickly and loved all the parts of it! It's a story about how Katie Vaughn, who is a video producer, is thrown into a situation by a colleague she doesn't really like, and her job is on the line. Cue having to go to Key West and one π₯ Coast Guard hottie who happens to also be a hero, with his own story. There are a gaggle of other characters, but I especially liked seeing how Rue fit into the brothers' dynamic and how she supported Katie through her challenges. Katie's vulnerability and strength as she faced her fears were so well-written. Such a fun, feel-good rom-com with the perfect amount of heart and heat. Highly recommend if you need a light and happy read! π₯°π
"What You Wish For" by Katherine Center tells the story of Samantha Casey, a librarian who's smart, a little quirky, and endearingly awkward. Beneath her capable exterior, Sam harbors insecurities about love and putting herself out there. She's got a good heart and a strong sense of self, even if she's sometimes unsure of herself romantically. The story picks up when Duncan, a former colleague and major crush from her past, re-enters her life. He's gone through some tough times, and their reunion isn't just a simple rekindling of old feelings; it's complicated by the weight of their shared history and the emotional baggage they both carry. It's about learning to love again, not just romantically, but also learning to love and accept themselves, and letting go of the past. Sam's also on a journey of self-discovery, figuring out what she truly wants in life and love, which makes her a relatable and engaging character. The book is warm, funny, and has those signature Katherine Center touches of heart and substance. It explores themes of second chances, the courage it takes to be vulnerable, and the messy, beautiful reality of love. It's a feel-good story without being overly saccharine, and Sam's journey, with all its bumps and triumphs, will resonate with many. It's about finding joy in unexpected places and realizing that sometimes, what you wish for is closer than you think.

This short story/novella definitely packs a punch of romance, humor, and the reality of some women's lives. Jimenez's signature wit and banter are on full display and the interactions between Charlotte and Seth are laugh-out-loud funny, and their chemistry is undeniable. While the story is lighthearted, it also delves into deeper emotions. Charlotte's past trauma and Seth's vulnerability add depth to their characters and make their connection all the more meaningful. The premise of being trapped together due to a construction mishap is a fresh and creative take on the "forced proximity" trope. This story follows Mika Moon, a solitary witch who has always lived a life of carefully guarded isolation while also trying to bend the rules given to her by Primrose (her appointed witch guardian). Her world is turned upside down when she's offered a job teaching three young witches at the mysterious Nowhere House.

This was my first cozy romance, and it's definitely 5 stars for me! β Although I was initially disoriented by the timeline, I quickly realized the story was cleverly structured, starting with the main character's past. Once I grasped the premise, the story quickly gained momentum and flowed together seamlessly. I was particularly drawn to Viv's storylineβher desire to leave her past behind and open a coffee shop was compelling. It was fascinating to see her pursue her dreams while navigating the challenges that arose, including the arrival of a certain love interest. It was a delightful read! βπ
