Meh, I wasn't really caught into Bastian and Katjia's love story.
Average read I suppose

Honestly, the spice hides the poor writing.

Another entry in the Immortals After Dark Series that feels engaging and unique in its world building from start to finish. Even widely used tropes feel fresh and charming in this violent universe. It was so good to see characters that we’ve become invested in from previous books (I’m especially excited to see Bowen and to get to his book next), and the Hie was such a great thrill ride!

Also the new cover art for this book is GORGEOUS!

No Rest for the Wicked is a definite improvement over A Hunger Like No Other. I love the concept of an immortal version of The Amazing Race where a variety of supernatural beings compete with each other. The execution of this race is a lot of fun and it does a good job pushing the hero and heroine to work together. There's also a lot more substance to the hero and heroine, compared to the previous book's crappy characterization. Both Kaderin and Sebastian have clear motivations and they have really good chemistry together. Sebastian is basically an awkward gentleman vampire, which I liked a lot lol.

I like where this series is going and I think I am finally starting to see why people like it so much. I'm glad I gave this book a chance.

P.S. This author's characters use a lot of slang and expressions and I don't know what the fuck any of it means 😅 Maybe it's an American thing 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm going to say that IAD for me is quickly as a reread becoming a comfort series. I love how over the top it all is. How it unfolds.

Sebastian is like the cutest vampire ever. So depressed until he find his love.
Kaderin is an 'unlikable' heroine due to being emotionless. I find her growth in this one just as interesting as the first book.
