Solid second installment in Daine's series.
In this book Daine is learning to use her powers more and helping her old wolf pack solve a problem-- humans are cutting down their forest. (Of course there's a lot more to it than that!)
I feel like Daine didn't do much growing as a person or anything like she did in book 1. I suppose she became aware of some prejudices she was holding toward beings she didn't really know yet, and tried to be more open minded, but not much soul searching or anything going on here. Mostly just an adventure story, albeit an engaging one.

I loved Wolf-Speaker just as much as Wild Magic. Daine is back again and better than ever! She meets new people and makes new animal friends. A great quick and fun read!

This is the book of my childhood, it shaped me growing up and coming back to re-read it is like spending time with old friends.
The first Tamora Pierce book that I ever read and the book that originally got me into reading as a child.
No critiques here!
If I could give more than 5 stars I would haha.

Fun fact: Wolf-Speaker was a contender for my favorite Tamora Pierce book.

An "assembling the team" story that includes wolves, squirrels, starlings, eagles, marmots, horses, cats, mice, ogres, humans of all ages, and a basilisk?! I'm into it.
