This book is not only a memoir of the author but of the earth. He starts the book by giving stats of the earth the year he was born (population, carbon in the air, wilderness, etc) as he progresses he updates how the earth has changed (spoiler alert carbon and population has gone up and the wilderness has decreased). In the second half of the book he tells us how we can do better!
A very informative read and much different from other books I have read on the subject. I don’t agree with everything he talks about in this book primarily evolution- but the rest of it was on point!

I was expecting this book to be more of an autobiography. It did have chapters that were autobiographical, but the focus was more of a call to arms to combat climate change and biodiversity loss. Good read expressing the urgency of our situation while also providing hope for a better future.

David Attenborough is a treasure. I believe what he says. This book made me sad.
