Read this book if you, like me, believe that cannibalism should be not just legal, but COMPULSORY.
Read this book if you want a complex and relatable lead doing her best to navigate impossible circumstances. Read it if you want to know what happens when “John Dies at the End” meets “A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet” at a bar in Bladerunner and they have a coke-fueled one-night stand that spits out a baby named Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick. Read it if you’re looking for a weirdly satisfying found family narrative that includes a cat named Stench Machine.
Just read it. (But read the first one first.)

The Zoey Ashe Series by Jason Pargin
“Zoey is too Drunk for this Dystopia” is the third book in the Zoey Ashe series and it does not disappoint! Zoey Ashe goes from the trailer park to being a billionaire, with hilarious results. Book 1 is called “Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits”. Book 2 is called “Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick”. Like the JDATE books, these books are the perfect harmony of funny and action sci-fi. The characters and relationships are well fleshed out. Those that may seem like stereotypes will surprise you.
All three books are self-contained stories that you don’t need to read the other books to understand, though all three are amazing and I highly recommend any of them.

Using juvenile humor to make serious points about our relationship with social media and non-physical spaces, this novel is silly, weird, not quite as funny as funny as the first, but smarter in its critiques and themes.

While I really enjoyed this one, I think I liked the first book better. It seems there was more for Zoey to do in the first installment, and in this one things just seemed to keep happening TO her. While the Suits did seem to have contingency plans, I think I would have liked this better if we were in the loop so to speak.
