Oh god. DON'T JUDGE ME!

I have been tricked into agreeing to read this series with a group of friends. This book honestly wasn't that bad. It's hard to get past some things and this is literally my first (and last after getting through the series) foray into inter-species action romance. Literally had to look up the author's page to get a real visual on Thrax because there's so much gong on with him. He's very caveman-y, especially with the imprinting bit, but the premise as a whole is decent enough to keep going. Claire could be a bit stronger. I'm definitely speed reading through the more sensual parts because that's not my cup of tea.

Great story, good writing, but the book was boring, what could have been filled with some action/adventure or some real emotion just wasn’t.

FMC is too young and it shows. Smut was boring even with context of a non-human MMC.

2.5 stars. I didn't like the twist about lilyan. I think it honestly made the story worse. There was really no point in that besides disappointing people and making me feel uncomfortable. I honestly felt bad for him. Idk. I was not happy with this. It needed more back story or growth or something. It was just disappointing. And honestly kind of dumb.

This book started off with an annoying character, Claire, but she grew on me as the book progressed. It was entertaining but nothing to rave over. Other monster books have been better.

I would like to read the sequel because I'm interested in those two side characters, but it's also a tentacle creature and I've never done well with those books lol

**Okay read, 2.5 Stars***
