Weird!
Another over the "over-the-top" book. So far over it's ridiculous in concept. The Corporation seemingly is able to do what ever it wants and no questions are asked. They have the capabilities that small armies, and navies, wished they had. No private citizen or organisation would ever have access to long range anti aircraft missiles to be used at will from their ship as a matter of everyday operational requirement.
There is a story here but it's just so full of impossibilities and down right stupidity. In fact there are two stories here that really could have been done in separate books.
This is so full of inaccuracies, even though it is fiction. There are no locks on the Suez Canal.
Mildly entertaining.

This is the first I've read by this author. Non stop action. So many different characters it was often difficult to keep them straight. I didn't dislike it but I was never really captivated by the story either. The story felt superficial and things just always worked out. It felt like a combination of James Bond and the Hardy Boys.

Cabrillo and his team are back chasing down weapons of mass destruction all over Europe and the Middle East, while employing trucks, planes, helicopters, boats and hand-held weapons. Can they stop the terrorists before the weapons are used?
Many times better than the first Oregon book, this one was still marked by amateurish writing styles such as an awkward cliff hanger at the end of every chapter (and many sections): "Little did he know that the next doctor he would visit would be a coroner." Also, there was just too much going on. By the end of the story there were 4-6 different teams (I lost count) of characters being followed. This book most likely gets three stars from me because I read it on the heels of its terrible predecessor.

Best Cussler?
I think the Oregon Files might be my favorite Cussler stories. Of course Dirk Pitt and Isaac Bell are great, but OF seem to be the best fleshed out and well written.
This book had all the elements of a good thriller, plus lots of interesting technology, cars and motorcycles, and is just a pleasurable read. If you are looking for hard core literature this isn’t that, but you should already know that.
