Scratched all the right itches. Magic, dragons, heartbreak, politics, and a complex world to lose yourself in.

Perfect holiday reading

It was fine. Kinda dragged. The appeal of priory was learning the history and the magic and I was hoping to get an expansion on this and learn more about the other trees. Unfortunately, this felt like a rehash of the first one for 700 of the 860 pages

I wouldn’t take a single word out of this book despite it being a very slow read for me. But it’s so beautiful written and the story so compelling that it doesn’t matter that it feels like Im not making a dent in this absolute beast of a book. I like the take a break for my usual reads to fully immerse myself in a story like this one. I don’t often read high fantasy but when I do it’s something about Samantha’s writing that just hits different.

Loved it. As good as her other book about the universe.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I didn’t enjoy The Priory of The Orange Tree but decided to try this one to see if it were any better. I am so glad I did. I was fully engaged in the story, in the characters, in the trajectory of the tale.
It was a very heavy book to read and it’s taken me longer to read than a book normally would, I found it hard to skip from character to character in each chapter and at points I had to put the book down after a chapter as I wasn’t ready to read another character’s perspective so soon. Which is why it’s a four star and not a five star. I would recommend this book! Definitely
