Another fantastic suspense novel from Joy Fielding. So many twists and turns. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Especially the last one! I highly recommend this All The Wrong Places. :)

What the $@&!? Girl WHAT. I am both loving this book and wanting to chuck it at the wall. I can’t tell if I am obsessed with the ending or want to rip the book in half.
I don’t see this book on booksta much, and I don’t know why! This book is insane! Any fans of Karin Slaughter have to pick this up.
Quick summary: Through a dramatic turn of events including a cheating scandal with her fiancé and cousin, Paige is newly single and doing dating apps. Paige’s bff is also dealing with an unfaithful husband. And there is a dating app killer loose in their area.
TW: there are very disturbing themes throughout.
This book is so suspenseful! We know there is a man killing women he meets on dating apps from the very beginning. And we know the 4 main women of this novel are all using dating apps in some way. I was so stressed the whole time my favorite characters were going to get murdered! And the end was quite the insane surprise.
Also a portion of this book is about Paige’s elderly mother. I thought that part was so touching and sweet. I haven’t really read any thrillers with a focus on older women. I didn’t know this was what I needed! The mother daughter relationship aspect was one of my favorite parts.

I’ve seen a lot of remarks about this one surrounding false advertisement and could not agree more. While the book isn’t bad, it definitely doesn’t live up to the ‘suspense thriller’ it claims to be and is very anticlimactic. A shame as the plot and character potential were there but the juxtaposition of the premise and the chick-lit vibe going on just didn’t work for me to the point where I considered DNFing.
I liked some small aspects of characterisation and would have enjoyed this more if I knew I wasn’t about to read a thriller in the slightest, but because of that misleading start I was hugely let down.

An unexpectedly happy ending, in a macabre way.

I became a fan of Joy Fielding years ago, and was a little surprised and thrown off with this novel. The writing style is unlike her other novels and is less dark and gripping. The storyline is great, it’s modern and focuses on online dating, which we all know has its dangers. Throw in a handful of strong characters with different personalities, and a creative author who has a knack with writing suspenseful thrillers, and you have a book that is begging to be read. I foresee a future movie to be made...

I’ve read every single one of her novels, and this one did not disappoint me at all! It was captivating, easy to read, believable characters (I love Paige and Chloe, while despising Heather and Matt), and the ending had her usual unsuspecting twist. I loved the take of using the online dating scene as the main plot line. Highly recommend this one!
