The synopsis initially drew me in as there is always a fear around meeting people online, are they who they say they are and what are their true intentions. I have to say this is not my typical genre that I read but I wanted to go out of my reading comfort zone and @readersfirst gave me that chance when I won a copy of this book.

The first chapter had me hooked, I found the male character we were first introduced to in this chapter very chilling with his calm demeanour despite his horrifying intentions. It then changes to Paige's point of view whom we assume must cross paths with chilling male character. .

Each time I put this book down, I found myself reaching back to see what would happen next even though I did find some of it predictable.

I did enjoy this book even though the ending to me fell a little flat and anti-climactic. Although maybe this could be affected by the fact I don’t tend to read much thrillers so don’t really have any direct comparisons. This was just how I felt at the end of the book.

Saw the ending coming a mile off and I'm normally fairly gullible. It was fine I suppose, but felt a bit clichéd.

Paige is having a really bad year. First she loses the job she loves when her firm is bought out. Then she catches her boyfriend Noah in bed with her cousin Heather. She moves back home with her widowed mother Joan and they decide to try their hand at online dating. Her best friend Chloe sets up an online dating profile too, to check out all her husband's profiles. Meanwhile young women are going missing in Boston. . The reader knows from the beginning that Mr. Right Now is a serial killer, and like in the movies you want to yell at the heroine to look out. After reading the blurb on the book, I pushed it aside, not sure why in the world I had chosen it. A group of friends online dating together. Really? But it is so much more. The story line drew me in and made me want to keep reading right to the satisfying ending. Mrs Fielding excels in character development. She has given us characters who are relatable, strong and likeable women and mostly flawed men, characters you care about. She introduced me to the ins and outs of online dating (and made me very glad we didn't have this back in the day) and also pointed out its shortcomings and dangers. I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this novel. I look forward to reading more of Ms Fielding's work.

This was more family drama than serial killer thriller... It was boring and had way too much day-to-day goings-on than I would've liked.

Not one of the  characters in this book was likable. (Not sure how it’s possible, but this is my 2nd Fielding book with that same problem.) It’s pretty bad when you don’t care what happens to the people in the story. A saying came into my head near the end: Play stupid games; win stupid prizes. The main characters made repeated Idiotic choices, so it was hard to be empathetic. Sure, there was a horrible murderer. There was a cruel, cheating husband. A drunken mother. An emotionally abusive father. And another mother who constantly said “darling.” (Does anyone IRL use that word regularly? Ugh, hopefully not.) I’m just relieved the book is over. If it hadn’t been the audio version, I’d never have finished it. No more Fielding for me.

I keep looking for thrillers in all the wrong places. This one didn't do much for me.
