All the Wrong Places by Joy Fielding
4.0
Paige is having a really bad year. First she loses the job she loves when her firm is bought out. Then she catches her boyfriend Noah in bed with her cousin Heather. She moves back home with her widowed mother Joan and they decide to try their hand at online dating. Her best friend Chloe sets up an online dating profile too, to check out all her husband's profiles. Meanwhile young women are going missing in Boston. . The reader knows from the beginning that Mr. Right Now is a serial killer, and like in the movies you want to yell at the heroine to look out. After reading the blurb on the book, I pushed it aside, not sure why in the world I had chosen it. A group of friends online dating together. Really? But it is so much more. The story line drew me in and made me want to keep reading right to the satisfying ending. Mrs Fielding excels in character development. She has given us characters who are relatable, strong and likeable women and mostly flawed men, characters you care about. She introduced me to the ins and outs of online dating (and made me very glad we didn't have this back in the day) and also pointed out its shortcomings and dangers. I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this novel. I look forward to reading more of Ms Fielding's work.
