This was a good book, but I found it frustrating that Adam didn't try to find out why Lily never showed up.

So… the ending was abrupt and I did not see it coming
So it could have ended a long time before, since it was dragging a bit
It’s a cute second chance romance but there is no backbone in the FMC and I don’t like that she was capable of nothing without him
She was struggling, hungry and sad and it’s him that brings everything to her
I don’t like this dynamic where the MMC has the whole power to your happiness, even to nourish yourself
Single mother are way better at that than the FMC and they deserve to not be pity like the FMC was shown

I found this book through those tiktok slideshows that post snippets of a scene & it sucked me in! I ended up giving 3.75⭐️ due to going in expecting more angst & heartache/groveling from Adam when confronted with the truth, so it was the smallest of letdowns when that scene came and gone quickly. I also think Adam should have confronted his mother more than the one conversation with her. But with all that being said, I loved this book so much, and my heart aches for all that Lily and Max had gone through. I loved all characters in this story & feel like it was very well written. Would 100% recommend it to someone looking for second-chance romance!
