Intressant sätt att skriva, jag har för mig att det var samma i hennes tidigare böcker, att hon beskriver vad som händer nästan som i ett manus. Till exempel ”The woman rejoined him, removing the clasp from her hair and then reinserting it.” Nästan som att författaren ger regi. Ibland gränsar det till syntolkning.

I loved BUT I can tell this book might not be for everyone. So if you read it off my review and don’t like it, that is not on me.

SO GOOD I love you sally rooney for writing this because every single one of those emails will stick with me until the end.

I could not connect with any of these characters. Other reviews note cringe-worthy moments and interactions and I agree they are peppered throughout the book but generally I not only found them cringeworthy but outright mean and disrespectful. I struggled with three main characters who had a “brutal honesty is the only honesty” perspective while attempting with a balance of a closed-off religious character. The sentence and structure was all lovely and easy enough to read but I don’t think any of the characters were developed enough to explain their general cruelty to one another.

It was ok the characters were winny at times, and there was not a lot development in the story.

Emails between friends Alice and Eileen, and a narrative of their daily lives, describe their struggle to maintain sense in our absurd world where how people treat each other determines the health and health and illness of our wellbeing.

It was easy to read, about a friendship and there insecurities of the friendship. I do like their views but it was a bit of a bore. Its a 3.8 for me.
