If I could sum up the overall feeling of this series it would be Kira wide-eyed and crying over something shocking that was just revealed. Most of the series was melodrama, but a classic that I had to read. After having read countless of manga stories, the westerness of this one is kind of shocking. It must have been a trend in the 90s. The feel of manga school drama today are much more culturally Japanese than this one was. I mean they wore street clothes to school. Are there school like that?

Thank God this didn't end tragically. I don't think my poor heart could've taken it.

I love Rei and I love Kira. I loved this series.

A lot happened and it caused me real stress but everything was worth it

Mars stole my heart with its adoring art style and surprising dramatic sequence. It's ironic how the plot is sometimes unbearable to me because it's a never-ending pain rooting from the heavy topics discussed throughout the series, but it's this same reason that kept me hanging around. It was just always interesting that it drew you in, just like that enthralling Mars painting of Kira for Rei.

A lot has happened in this final volume. I wasn't actually sure how it would come out, considering the cliffhanger from the previous one. But it was satisfying indeed. I love how Soryo completely captured the image that I wanted to see before the curtains finally closed forever. I love this series... with all my heart.

Rei is the type of guy that Kira couldn't stand; flirty, reckless, and a biker. When a chance encounter leads to Rei saving Kira from a teacher with bad intentions, neither of them know the extent to which the other will impact them.

On the outside, MARS is a typical coming-of-age story centered on the relationship between good girl and a bad boy. But underneath the romance lie stories of suicide, rape and murder; the idea that everyone has a secret to hide, even those who seem most innocent. When the dark pasts of Rei and Kira come to light, they struggle to keep their relationship together.

This is definitely one of my favorite manga series out there, I highly recommend it for the shoujo fan! :)
