One of the best shojo manga series to ever be written. I just wish it wasn’t out of print, I’d literally sell one of my kidneys just to own the physical copies of this series.

Great little ending to a good series. Ties things up nicely.
The series did show it's age a bit here and there, something I admittedly didn't pick up on when I was collecting this back in high school. Still, of all the teen drama media I've consumed over the years.....this is still one of my favorites.

So glad I've spent the day binge reading this series! First time I've done a reread since my teen years. The story is still so good, although a tad bit melodramatic to my now adult eyes. The artwork is still as stunning as I remember and I just love the way it wraps up.

Overall summary of series. The characters were actually realistic in many ways which was really nice. Not quite my preferences anymore now that I'm part of the working world, but definitely something I would have eaten up in high school and college.

Rounded up the rating because while I'm not that satisfied with how the story went, it was surprisingly great in terms of mental health conversations. The female protagonist's personality was almost non-existent after the first few volumes to give all the space to the questionable male protagonist, who was actually fairly fleshed out in comparison. I wish there had been more talk about art, or at least as much as the racing bit, which took a good chunk of several volumes (out of 15). This plot clearly went downhill after the first three volumes but finally got back on wobbly feet during the last ones (when the father was properly introduced). While lacking on some levels, the story as a whole was interesting enough (although quite a mindfuck at times) to make me want to finish it, and the art style was consistently great. I also wish there had been more happy times within this particular volume, but the ending clearly hints at future better days ahead for Rei and Kira.
