I loved this book. It is the second book in the Midnight Pack series. I love the sassy and sarcastic way Gemma and Deacon talk to each other.
Deacon is trying to help Gemma get over her trauma. She just deflects by either running away or using biting sarcasm and sassiness.
I really can’t wait for the next book in the series, I need to find out what happens next. The book kinda ended on a cliffhanger.

Really enjoyed Deacon and Gemma's story. Book 2 in the series was even better than the first which hopefully means that book 3 will be even better.
The book follows on from the first but sees the events from Deacon (Shaun's brother) side. Deacon and Gemma were drawn to each other from the first but then Gemma was kidnapped. When the pack get her back it's only Deacon who treats her as a person rather than a victim. We get more information on why the pack is being targeted as well as watching Deacon and Gemma's relationship unfold. We also get more of an insight into Mac, the alpha of the pack (can't wait to read his book!). The story is written well and not rushed, the two main characters are both flawed but written in such a way you feel for them. Definitely a series to follow.

This book follows on from the end of book one as Shaun and gemma are rescued.
Gemma's suffering and guilt at the hands of Damien is building walls which Deacon is determined to break down with his assholeness and bad funny jokes. I love the battle between the couple as they fight themselves and each other. This is an amazing series so far and I can't wait to read more. I want to learn more about the hunters and what their plans are with the girls and midnight pack.

I love this whole series and can not recommend it enough. Wish there were 10 star option! I love each and every book this author publishes and can’t wait for her next book! READ this series. You will be glad you did!

So, it had been a while since I had read the first in this series and I was a little confused in the beginning. We definitely got dropped right back into where we were left in the first book, just from Deacon and Gemma's perspective. While I enjoyed this story, I felt like something was lacking. I'm not sure what it was and I know that's not fair to say. Maybe even more fire between Gemma and Deacon. It was almost as if she succumbed to him to soon after arriving back at the house after being raped and tortured by Damien. I did like that her wolf took over and supressed her memories. I liked the scene with Deacon and the white wolf. I also think it's curious that she accepted Deacon as her alpha but not Cormac. It is very clear that this story isn't finished and that it will continue in Cormac's book. Which I hope is already out so I can go ahead and download it.
I read this book as part of the #romancingsummerchallege and logged it as my Indie Author.

Awesome shifter story
Assuming the book is still set in the US (the pack moved from LA), the most unrealistic part of the whole book is not that there are wolf shifters around every corner. No, it's that a girl working for a diner would have "vacation time" to use. But seriously, Love the story and characters and like getting to see more of the ones we've already read about in the future ones

Midnight Temptation is book two in L. Ann's steamy shifter series and this book does NOT disappoint! It picks up where book one left off, but with a small shift in who are the focal characters. Now it's Gemma and Deacon's story. Gemma is dealing with the shock and horror that she endured while being held captive by Deacon's cousin. Deacon wants her to deal with what happened so that she can deal, but she doesn't want to. She blames herself but wants to say that she's not a victim. The struggle is real for these characters to deal with each other, but the chemistry between them is FIRE! The question is...can they get through this? Or will Gemma's stubbornness cost them? Add in that the evil cousin is still running around, masking his scent, and the dangers keep piling up! Grab. This. Book!!
Midnight Temptation is indeed a temptation! You'll find yourself drawn into this story so deeply that you'll need a fan from the steam coming off the pages. The build-up is insane! The author is such a tease with certain scenes that she literally keeps you page-turning and begging for more. Then she quickly flips the script and makes you want to shake Gemma. LOL! Deacon is no angel of course, but I appreciate that he is trying to hold it together. He wants to protect Gemma, but he needs her to stop running away from what happened. These two are constantly drawn to each other like magnets and I loved every minute of it.
This story packs it all - some humor, steamy romance, danger, suspense, and revelations. I honestly appreciate that the author recaps and provides us with repeats of certain scenes and situations from the first book between these two. It helped keep me further engaged in the story and eager for more. I loved the refreshers because it has been a while since I read the first book and this allowed me to enjoy this book without feeling like I'm missing something.
If you read the first book, then you need to grab this one and dive in! But clear your schedule! If you start reading at night...get a glass of your favorite drink, settle in and don't plan on sleeping. If you start reading during the day...find a nice quiet place to read, favorite drink and don't plan on stopping until you've hit the last page.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I was hot and bothered and drooling more times than I'm willing to admit. LOL! This author knows how to tell a great story!

Midnight temptation is all that I expected and more from Deacon and Gemma's story. L. Ann explores some dark themes, tempered with her signature style of wit, humor and snappy dialogue. Like Deacon and Gemma themselves, this story has a tough outer shell that once it's been chipped away, exposes a softer and more meaningful underbelly. L. Ann has created an intriguing world with a unique blend of paranormal and contemporary, delivered with wit, style and a dash of suspense. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

The trauma was a bit “she’ll be right, mate” but otherwise a great continuation. Not sure how the next one is going to go with the female lined up to be someone I’m not sure I want, but I’ll do it anyway!
I’m actually loving the mystery story behind all this, it’s an interesting concept!
