I'm not going to pretend this book didn't have problems. It does. One other review said something like "the author came up with three personalities for four girls" and I couldn't have said it better myself (which is why I just copied her comment). Plus, the entire April drama is a bit unrealistic. But despite that, I enjoyed the book and finished it in a week.

I thought it was a great summer read. Light enough for the beach but kept me wanting to read til the end. Made me reminisce about my own college experiences a bit too.

After reading reviews, I had high hopes for this book. Man, was it a let-down. I finished it quickly because I kept expecting/hoping for something that would turn it around but that never happened. To quote another reader's review, this book is clunky. There's just too much drama. First you have the friendships among the four main characters, which are so overboard codependent it's ridiculous. Then there are all of their side relationships... and then sex trafficking is thrown in! It's just too much.

Didn't actually finish this one either. I just didn't enjoy it although I loved her book Maine. And, I've finally gotten to the point where if I'm not enjoying a book, I can stop reading it without feeling guilty.

Ever since I read The Group by Mary McCarthy, I'm a total sucker for books about tight-knit groups of college girlfriends, and how their lives go totally awry.

It's a little contrived, but so what? I couldn't put it down.

As with most books that end but don't provide a ton of closer, I want to know more!

Chic lit. Not life-changing or v. unique. But I was interested enough to finish it.

Two and a half. I was loving this for about the first 2/3. Then it takes a pretty dopey, melodramatic turn. The ending is abrupt and flat out dumb. Pretty disappointing but I did like Maine and I'll still read her new one.

I'm thinking this will be an easy summer read. Looks like the same old story about girls bonding about stuff, and probably someone dies or at the very least gets sick. Count me in.

EDIT: I was right, this was a pretty boring light read. Now back to good, depressing books that actually have meat to their characters - unlike this dribble of a novel.

i enjoyed the slow meandering of this and the stories and characterizations of the women, but towards the end it turned into a suspense/action kind of thing, which did not seem to fit with the rest of the book.
