I just couldn't get into the characters in this book. The characters were boring and the story moved along too slow. I rarely give up on a book but this one I did.

I very rarely read in the car, since I am extremely prone to motion sickness. This book, however, was good enough that I risked it.

I had never heard of the author, but was intrigued that the book won a mystery award for best first novel, so I picked it up on a whim.

Joslyn Shore has taken the trip of a lifetime with her beautiful cousin in order to forget about her ex. She and her cousin resemble each other enough that they are repeatedly mistaken for sisters, though Joslyn feels sure she is the less attractive of the two.

Egypt would be more wonderful if strange and uncomfortable things didn't keep happening. One of the fellow tourists died. They later discover it was murder. A shop owner died later. Was it connected to the trip?

Death on Tour by Janice Hamrick is a delightful romantic mystery taking place in Egypt. Jocelyn Shore and her cousin Kyla take the vacation of a lifetime on a budget tour. Early on their tour, one of their fellow travelers is found dead. Was it an accident or murder? Between beautiful descriptions of Egypt and the historic sites, the mixture of characters involved, mistaken identities and a romance a wonderful comic mystery evolves. The book was laugh-out-loud funny and a very enjoyable book. I look forward to her next book

I really enjoyed this first book by new author, Janice Hamrick. I thought the dialogue was fresh and realistic, and the interaction between main character, Jocelyn and her cousin Kyla rang true. But, towards the end of the book, Jocelyn started to become TSTL. It became increasingly obvious to her who the real culprit was going to turn out to be, but for some reason she ignored all of the evidence and still couldn't see who it was. And it was so obvious!!! The reader didn't know anything Jocelyn didn't know, so it bugs me she was so thick.

I will read more by this author, even with the flaws of Jocelyn. The dialogue really did save this one.

Really fun. I loved that almost everyone seemed suspicious, although I did have the bad guy pegged after reading less than half. I adored the setting, which made everything slightly creepier. Will definitely read the next one.

This was a great book! Very different than most mysteries I've read recently.. Jocelyn and her cousin Kyla are on a vacation.. A tour of Egypt! But during their tour one of the other people on the tour is murdered and Jocelyn just can't let it go and wants to find out more about everybody on the tour with them.. There is a lot of suspense and a lot of exciting details on their trip! Very well written and great characters :)

One of the better Cozies I've read lately. Excellent writing and a solid story with great well thought out characters. I would have given it 5 stars had I not figured solved the main mystery as well as the sub-mystery by page 90.

I read this for a mystery book club. I can't believe it won an award. It read like bad teen lit and the plot was completely predictable albeit in a new setting (Egypt). That might be a bit harsh - perhaps it's good teen lit and I'm just not a fan of teen lit. The tale itself was not a bad yarn but the romantic subplot and teenaged girl cattiness was overwhelming for me.

I cannot wait to read more of this series! Not many books grab me like this one did, especially cozy mysteries. I love them, but many can be like a handful of candy, sweet and easily devoured.
There are many mysteries going within this book and it could have become confusing with another, less-skilled writer, but Janice Hamrick has a talent. Good writing and keeping the threads from getting tangled.
Nicely done, Janice Hamrick, nicely done!
