I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I took my time reading it because I didn't want it to end. There are dynamic insights revealed that connected with my life and journey. I will be referencing this book in the future.

I loved the book and am hopeful that my afterlife will be as fabulous as Billie's!

I wish everyone would read this book. It answers so many questions - about life after death AND about the meaning of life on earth.

Started out OK - probably would have been more powerful as a short story.

Every time Billy came back from another ‘realm’, comparing each new realm to things from earth or myths we've heard about, despite having his earthly memory wiped - the less believable and enjoyable it became.

Plus I found Billy's voice to be judgemental and arrogant - hard to believe he had become one with the universe.

I like reading books about what happens after death because I don't have a clue and I'm curious to hear different ideas. Ms Kagan tells the story of her recently passed addict homeless brother. She was the much younger golden child of the family. He was the bad boy. But somehow they had a close bond in life. She writes this book about her communication with him after death. Not sure why he had permission and the ability to share all the details he did. A lot of what he shares details as existence beyond human understanding that closely aligns with many eastern religions but more beyond what we can truly comprehend. It is interesting and I could not say whether I believe it or not. Just some food for thought. If this type of book interests you, check it out.

First sentence: The Miami Dade Police left a message on my answering machine at nine in the morning.

Favorite quote: As the garden grows inside you, water the flowers and don't forget that the sand of the spiritual works is only the sand of the oyster that makes a pearl. It's the irritant that makes the pearl.

Oh how I love how one book leads to another. I keep promising myself I will note on my Goodreads page of my books where I heard or read about the particular title. I've been reading a bunch of books on spirituality and I love how the thread weaves itself from book to book. My words are not as clear as this quote from the forward is as to what this book is about. "The average American will probably find Dr. Kagan's narrative of her other-worldly adventures with a deceased brother hard to believe. That is too bad, though, because the Greek philosophers who founded Western thought knew full well about the remarkable phenomenon she describes." A book well worth reading.
