Started out OK - probably would have been more powerful as a short story.
Every time Billy came back from another ‘realm’, comparing each new realm to things from earth or myths we've heard about, despite having his earthly memory wiped - the less believable and enjoyable it became.
Plus I found Billy's voice to be judgemental and arrogant - hard to believe he had become one with the universe.
