This book was a nice blend of standalone and overarching stories. Nite-Mite was fun and was still able to deliver on what makes Dick a great hero. But at the same deliver on the funny that only an imp from the 5th dimension can deliver.
The mystery of Heartless has been under our nose and yet not at the same time. It comes to a glorious head here.
It ends on such a satisfying note and yet leaves me wanting more. Dick Grayson being the guardian for the world and universe is such a great evolution. Nightwing is quickly evolving to being one of my favorite superhero characters. This book has me relating to him on a personal level more than I ever thought possible.

I liked the actual story beats of this installment, but it kept getting soooo distracted by comic book nonsense. Plus I'm a Nite-Mite hater. And I caught a literal typo.
But it was all worth it to see Bruce give Dick a proper apology....

Though Nightwing continues in its usual fun and action-packed style for this volume, little is done to move the plot forward. Some new elements are introduced or explored further that are happening in Blüdhaven, yet it feels like the hero of this story keeps getting swept up in side-quests, almost afraid to complete an arc. Nightwing's adventures remain eventful and Moore's art remains stunning to look at, this book feels, in parts, more like a teaser for what's more to come rather than anything substantial in its own right.
Graphic: Death, Gun violence, Violence, Blood, Kidnapping, Death of parent, Murder, and Fire/Fire injury

Just as warm and uplifting as it is thrilling, Nightwing’s foe may be heartless, but his book isn’t.

This is the weakest volume of the run yet. The multiple one-off stories and the frequent art style changes were quite jarring and confusing(although I think the nite-mite story was cute), and the reveal of heartless' backstory was disappointing. I think that connecting him back to Dick and trying to draw some parallels between them was unnecessary and uninspired. My favourite part of this volume was the talk that Dick has with Bruce near the end. I love them.
