I always love a book centered around a ballet studio. I loved our two main characters and watching them learn to stand up for themselves and their dreams even when everyone else told them they were impossible. This was a sweet, lighthearted romance that was easy to read in one sitting. It reminded me of what I love about YA romance and I look forward to continuing the series.

The Quarterback and The Ballerina

4✨
YA, Romance

Something I really enjoyed about this book was getting to see representation of a young girl who feels insecure of her plus size body and has been told she can’t succeed due to her size. Also? I loved the dynamic of the star football player not noticing her size, and just ultimately seeing Collette for who she is. Which is a snarky, quiet, intelligent, talented and nerdy ballerina in hiding. Ethan brings to the table the urge to break free from the mold people put others in, desperate to reshape the world into who they are.

The romance is sweet and brings softness to the characters. Desperate to hide what she wants because she feels that she won’t succeed as others have said, Collette pushes Ethan to be himself and shine in his musical talents. All the while, Ethan desperately tries to help Collette find the truth about herself, that she is not what others say.

It was very cute, but I wish there was so much more. I left me wanting to see an ending with them.

Cute and adorable story. Feels like the dance movies of the 2000s.

the book was cute but i don't like the way the author wrote the FMC as someone so pitiful & a debby-downer of herself.

Cute

I'll definitely be reading the next books to see where things end up. However, I just had a hard time with how quickly things moved. I know they're in high school but c'mon. It was a cute, fun, quick read.

Eh. The cover is very literal.

The story was just eh. Too much over thinking, not enough actual talking b/w H and h.
