3.5 stars. I've enjoyed listening to the audio books of this series. This was a nice conclusion to the trilogy, however, parts of it felt really slow and just dragged for me (lots of "what-if" postulating, endless strategies, etc.). I also hated to see so many characters die throughout the story (although I understand that's what happens during a war).

Loved this! Great finale to a great series.

SO GOOD! This trilogy far exceeded my expectations. Intrigue, action, comedy, fantasy, but the true backbone of this story is the relationships forged by this large cast of characters.

The previous 2 books were just fun, light reading. A little simple but that was ok. This one was a ton of fun to read. The plot felt a lot more intricate and detailed than the previous books. I'll likely read more from the author.

What an ending! This was an excellent series and any fan of fantasy young adult fiction should give this a read. Great stuff.

Okay, so this took me ages to finish, because it got a little dull in the middle, but I really liked the ending. While I was somewhat disappointed, I came to terms with it, and I actually really liked it. :) This was an excellent end to the series, and it turned out really well. Brandon Mull, I congratulate you on another successful book.

Great finale! I got very emotional, very good story telling. I recommend this series to anyone who likes middle grade to YA fantasy.

I absolutely love this series, but sometimes I wonder at the reality that I find in all of my favorite heroes. Sometimes the adventure is something that changes you irrevocably and it's always a bittersweet sensation. I highly recommend this series; it provides a unique perspective from each of its characters and allows for a refreshing amount of selfless and straightforward heroism throughout the story. Fantastic!

In my second time reading it, I have really noticed the complexity of all of the characters, and especially the villains. Still FABULOUS!
