This is my favorite book of all time. Deeply emotional, cleverly written, a perfect tie up to a wonderful series. I will never stop recommending this series to people, and those I have put on to this series has devoured it in weeks. You simply can't put it down.

Brandon Mull has delivered a heart wrenching finale to the Beyonders series, with 'Chasing The Prophecy'.
The feels, is what I'll really say about that.
Rachel and Jason face many struggles in the fight against Maldor, and these struggles, both physical and emotional, shape them for the final battle against Maldor, in hopes that standing with Galloran to save Lyria, was not in vain.
Absolutely a series worth buying for your household collection folks, with a strong start, and eventful middle and a satisfying and just as strong finish.

I enjoyed this series for the most part. Definitely some entertaining parts and characters that I enjoyed getting to know. I really enjoyed Brandon Mull’s “Fablehaven” and I am 3 books into his 4 book series “Dragon Watch”. I think he is a fun writer.
I 3-starred this because at times, I got bored reading it. I wasn’t eager to get to the next book like in some of his other series. I finished the series because there were some characters that I really liked, some story lines that I was really interested in, but overall, it felt like it should have been an epic. Just 300-400 pages too short to get in all the details and all the fillers to complete how much was happening to all the characters.

It's dark.
Very dark. But Beyonders is a dark series. Lyrian isn't a magical world where all the heroes hopes and dreams come true. Lyrian is a world in turmoil. A land that has almost entirely been encompassed by darkness. Maldor is a wicked man and his power and vile deeds know no end.
In war, the casualties are always greater than hoped for and this is the case with Chasing the Prophecy.
There are no happily ever afters here. No simple answers to complex problems. No victories without sacrifice and grave cost. In a way, it's what makes this series so captivating along with Mull's vivid descriptions and tone.
Beyonders is by far not as light hearted as the typical fantasy fare I read, but I highly recommend it if you are a fan of Mull's or YA fantasy in general.

Three and a half. The saga ended in a satisfying way, and there was plenty of excitement all along the journey. But there was, in my opinion, way too much talking and thinking things over.

This book was the worst in the Trilogy and an utter disappointment. It was full of slow parts. Even more disappointingly, the character relationships all lost any sense they had. Jason and Rachel's relationship by the end of the book made absolutely no sense!
I know that Mull respects Paolini and considers him an influence, but he definitely should not have copied the ending of the romance in the Inheritance Cycle for this book. I'm so angry at it that I almost considered giving the book a 1 star just for that reason alone.

Wonderful ending to the series. Despite the fact that I read the other two books at least a year ago, I was able to recall most of what happened. Great ending, great emotion. It would be nice to see another book in this world with Jason's daughter as the main character as seen in the prophecy.

I think I liked this one best of the trilogy. I listened to a good portion of the books in audiobook format, and while the narrator did a good job, I had a hard time getting into it. I don’t know that I would have had the patience of it wasn’t a way to keep myself alert when driving. The final third of this book, I read myself, speeding through. It was neatly wrapped up, nothing left wanting, but definitely leaving room for a follow up series if wanted.
