Imperfect Chemistry by Mary Frame was a sweet college romance. I loved how Jensen helped open up Lucy's eyes to magic of letting someone in and sharing your life with them. I enjoyed how Lucy encouraged Jensen follow his dreams. This story gave me the cozy vibes I felt at my college apartment during the winter time. I was hesitant to be excited about this college romance, since they aren't really my jam, but I truly had a great time reading Imperfect Chemistry and can see myself reading the other books in the Imperfect Series.

Sweet story about a genius who is stumped about how to study emotion in relationships. Her next door neighbour becomes her focus, since she's attracted to him, and she learns more about the complexities of love and friendship than she bargained for.

Lucy is a humorous character, very direct, and Jensen is looking for honesty. Throughout the book, Lucy figures out how to make friends, and doles out wisdom that, although harsh, is still right on the nose.

Freya is a good friend, but the part about her hiring someone to beat up her ex-boyfriend doesn't quite fit her personality. I still love it, though, because she was raped by the boyfriend, so really, it's a justice many people think about.

Interesting characters, fun, light read.

As I started reading, I realized the first few chapters were familiar. I checked my Kindle and discovered I'd read not just this book, but several others in the series. Somehow, I didn't remember anything but the beginning, though. It's a cute new adult romance. There was a line from th beginning that I hated, however, when Lucy makes a comment about getting royalties for some articles she's published in science journals. That is not how academic publishing typically works, so to have that thrown in like it's not a very unusual thing completely broke my suspension of disbelief. I obviously moved on and finished the story, but that detail obviously still bothers me.

Very cute ! You could see the development of Lucy over the course of the book and it seemed natural and not rushed.

This was alright. Very predictable but still a sweet love story. Lucy was very autistic coded, but in a way that felt slightly caricature-esq. Jensen was sweet, and I'll admit I did not see the
plot point of him being a virgin
coming.

There was a little bit of suspension of belief with a number of the interactions between characters in this book, but if you just settled in and accepted it, it was fine. Theirs was certainly insta-love. It had very 2000s romcom vibes, which let's be honest, sometimes still hit the spot when you're looking for something simple.

5 Lucy Loving Starts!

This may be the first book I’ve read by Mary Frame, but it certainly won’t be the last. I can’t stress enough how much I loved this book! It was so great and refreshing. I’m not going to lie; I love these kinds of books. Girl lives next door to boy, girl has a problem only boy can fix, girl and boy fall in love, THE END. But that’s the thing, Imperfect Chemistry was so much different than that generic plot.

First of all, Lucy is my queen. She’s so funny and real; she is one of the best heroine’s I have ever read about. She is so smart has barely any social skills, so she’s very straightforward and blunt in a hilarious way.

“Do you experience an erection every time you see someone you consider attractive?”

“You sound like a rape whistle.”

Like who says things like that? OMG I want to be her best friend. And Jensen. Oh Jensen, I love you. He was so cute and loving, and he understood Lucy and loved her for who she was.

Honestly this is probably the best book I’ve read all year. The only problem I had with it was that it wasn’t long enough! I need more Lucy and Jensen! You hear me Ms. Frame, I need more!
