Nikki Sex does it again. Fantastic quick read.

Wendy and Frank have been married for 13 years. They have better sex on their own than with each other. This all changes when Frank picks up Wendy's kindle instead of his own.

Can their sex life change for the better?

I would recommend this book.

Can Love Be Rekindled

Wendy loves her husband, Frank, but their sex life is the pits and boring. She has been satisfying herself reading her erotic novels and using her vibrator. Then one day, Frank accidentally grabs the wrong Kindle and finds out how unsatisfied Wendy is.

I was looking for a HOT quick book to get "in the mood" last night. So I checked out my Kindle and found What Wendy Wants by Nikki Sex (currently FREE on Amazon!) and it was just perfect for what I was looking for. With a very relatable and likable main character and some really hot sex, at 93 pages, it was the perfect hot little in-between book.

Wendy and Frank have been married for 13 years. With twin teenage sons and a 6 year old, there hasn't been much time for great sex, and Frank is "Mr. Vanilla". She has hinted that she may want a little more kink in her life, but he just blew her off.
“Honey, sometimes I think that you should pretend I’m your sex toy, like a game. Wouldn’t that be fun?”

“Hmm? Oh. Of course”, he had said hopping on top of her missionary style. “You know I love you, and sex is the best game in town.”

So she is living out her hot sex fantasies with her vibrator and her Kindle.
“My Kindle and my battery operated boyfriend are my best friends.”

She likes to hide from her kids in the bathroom to read.
"You're hiding in there reading again, aren't you?"
"Crap! Wendy thought, realizing that she hadn't even gotten as far as turning her Kindle on. Busted! That kid is too damn smart for his own good."

When Wendy realizes that Frank grabbed her Kindle on the way to work, she freaks out and calls him to let him know. He thought she sounded funny, so he tries to break into her kindle to see what she is hiding. Being a forensic accountant, he is used to analyzing and figuring things out. So he gets in to her Kindle easily, and then sees what she is reading.

He used his accountant skills and did a full analysis of all the books on her kindle, especially the highlighted parts, and decided to make all of his wife's fantasies come true. He went full on into it, buying toys and joining a chatroom on Fetlife. At first, he wasn't sure he could really be the Dom his wife wanted, but after he tried it out, her realized he loved bringing his wife unimaginable pleasure. I thought it was cute how he thought of his research as he worked so hard to remember how to bring about the pleasure he read about. But let me tell you, he's a quick study!

Likes:

  • -So realistic and relatable!

  • -Many laugh out loud moments.

  • -Totally hot sex.

  • -When the author made fun of her own name (ha! exactly what I thought when I read her name).

  • -Once they began changing their sex life, the communication between the couple was wonderful.

  • -How bad Frank felt when he realized he hasn't been giving his wife what she wanted, and how hard he worked to rectify it.

  • -Wendy's snarky relationship with her kids.

  • -A quick get-you-in-the-mood read.

Dislikes:

  • -For a Free book, I don't have a problem with this, but if I paid I would. Nikki's other books were brought up way too much throughout the story. Once is cute, but it became too much. But it worked, I bought Carmen's New York Romance (Currently on sale for only $.99)!

  • -Sometimes Frank's analysis took away the sexiness.

If you are looking for a funny, very sexy little story about a husband and wife rekindling their romance, this may be just the ticket. I have so many friends who tell me they married Mr. Vanilla and they just wish he would read their books! (I send my husband screen shots of the good stuff). If you are OK overlooking a bit too much self-advertising, What Wendy Wants by Nikki Sex is a fun, hot read with light BDSM.

This review first appeared on Blackbeak Books.

I found this book by someone recommending it on Facebook and it piqued my interest immediately. I haven’t read new adult/adult in a while so I needed something fun to read, something that doesn’t make me think about it 24/7. I could say this one gave that to me but it still wasn’t the one I wanted.

Wendy has been married for years, has three kids and still loves her husband very much, but their sex life is just not the same as it was in the beginning. So what does a woman do in this situation? Gets herself a vibrator and lots of erotic books and buries herself in the fantasy of dominating men. When her husband, Frank accidentally takes her Kindle instead of his own, he discovers Wendy’s secret fantasies and vows to make all of them a reality.

To be honest, I liked the idea of the book. It would have been a good one. But even though it’s 200+ pages, I felt like the actual night of the even has been both dragged and rushed. It didn’t help that Frank commented in his head on literally every move and sound Wendy made. The whole thing felt like a catalogueing or I don’t even know what I could compare it to. Wendy and Frank were unrealistic and contradictory. I also didn’t like how Wendy talked about her kids, like they were only a burden, even though she repeated a couple of time that how much she loves them. The other sketchy thing was how the author grabbed any opportunity to advertise herself and her other books in this one. Sorry, but it made me want to read them even less than before. Not that I was planning, after this one.

The night of the seduction started out pretty sweet and romantic and that’s why I gave it two stars. Plus because it was a quick read. I didn’t regret reading it, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Badly written but the story makes up for it. There were literally lines like "Little did Wendy know that the day that had started off so badly, was only going to get worse."

This type of author intrusion where the narrator talks directly to the reader is jarring. Also it's unnecessary. If the story is strong enough, you don't need to warn us. LOL

Despite the weak writing, this author is a great storyteller. It kept my interest throughout and made me want to know what would happen next. I'm excited to see how this author develops over time.

This rates only 1 1/2 stars I think. I feel bad giving it only a one, as I did enjoy parts of it. Umm - the few parts that were not an advertisement for Kindle or Nikki Sex books. Disappointing to discover this as thinly disguised as a book embedded in a boxed set!

Other than the ads there was very little to this book. Just one big sex scene. I understand that this is erotica - but I prefer mine with a bit of a story.
